The Accidentals - https://www.theaccidentalsmusic.com
The Accidentals (Sav Buist and Katie Larson) started playing music professionally when they were 15 and 16 years old after meeting in their public high school orchestra program in Traverse City, MI. They volunteered to help their high school acquire electric instruments and formed the alternative strings club—and so was born a friendship for the ages.

Their story is exceptional, as they have never not been musicians. They have worked professionally in the music industry since they were teens, launching their first album in 2012, just months before they transferred to Interlochen Arts Academy and participated in the first-ever Singer Songwriter program as Junior/Seniors.

Six full-length albums, three EPs, a production deal, a major label deal, hundreds of concerts in the US and abroad—including some of the best festivals in the US—sync placements in TV series, movies, and ads, endorsement deals, collaborations, a sold-out FAM cruise to Croatia, and a fan club they call FAMgrove, brings us to 2024.

Releasing Cover Art in 2024, their first album with new drummer Katelynn Corll (Detroit), the band kicked off the summer at Rock By The Sea festival in Florida and wrapped at Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI. They have a second album of co-writes—part of the TIME OUT series (already available on their Patreon FAMclub page)—releasing in the Spring of 2025, and they just finished recording a 2025 Christmas winter album with Kaboom Collective Studio Orchestra.

The Accidentals are “musicians’ musicians.” Not only do they write, arrange, and record their own music, but they are session players in the Nashville recording scene. Sav and Katie have recorded strings and vocals on 30+ other artists’ albums this year.

“Supporting other artists in the studio and on the road was always one of our goals,” says Katie Larson. “In this business, the more revenue streams, the better—and we’re excited to continue to grow and be challenged.” Sav is on tour this year with country artist Lainey Wilson, and Katie is out with country crooner Bred Young.

The band says, “Our goal is to create a safe listening space for everyone and shared experiences. Music helps people process things that are hard to process. Hopefully, people can relate to something we’re creating in a way that feels like understanding. Maybe, it offers a different perspective, and that leads to less loneliness and more community.”

NPR calls them some of the most compelling writers of our time.
Pop Matters says, they’re a power trio whose music is a blend of Neko Case lyrics, Jack White rock, and Queen dynamic. It's edgy, indie folk-influenced pop rock.
Their FAMclub said it best: Americana lyrics, pop melodies, and punk energy.

Maddy Ringo - https://www.maddyringo.com
Since picking up a career on the sidewalks of Toronto, multi-instrumentalist indie folk songwriter Maddy Ringo has become a prominent emerging artist in the Southeast Michigan folk scene with her poignant songwriting. She brings a contemporary edge and a mellifluous, jazzy voice to a timeless musical tradition of cultural conversation. Her latest album People of the Earth and Sea explores vivid narratives of the complex internal world within an alienating post-industrial society, drawing on her experience as an artist raised in an urban environment.
